"Greyhound reviewed the results of Greyhound Worker's Compensation claim frequency to determine the impact of the ZAP Incentive. ZAP was initally rolled out in the telephone information center here in Dallas 9/97. We note a 25% reduction in indemnity claim frequency between "whole years" 1997 and 1998. and a 50% reduction in "medical only" claim frequency for the same period, resulting in overallclaim frequency reduction of 42.3%. The results were impressive!

Greyhound initiatedthe program in all operations departments between 4/98 and 12/98. As you know, these are the employee groups which have traditionally had higher claim frequency. A comparison of the claims reported in those operations departments indicates positive trends, however, the program is still too new in some locations to evaluate. The programdoes appear to be working! Please reffer to the spreadsheets for specific monthly and yearly comparison information.

We are excited about the inital trends, and will continue to evaluate the program's impact on Greyhound WC claim costs."
